Aloha Friday, What kind of patient are you?

Monday was my hysterectomy, and though the surgery took a little longer than expected because of a small complication, overall, it was successful. I'm happy to say I am now cancer free! I'm recovering at home which involves a lot of napping, and movie watching, (thanks for your great movie recommendations last week.) It's only been a few days, but it seems like weeks, already. Hubby is great at taking care of me, but I'm really a terrible patient. I hate having to ask for things, and then when I do ask, I want it right away. I also forget to take my meds, and then complain when something hurts. Bless him for his patience!

My question for you this week:
Are you a good patient?

  1. I'm glad your surgery went well.

I'm a bad patient. I suffer in silence because I'm afraid of bothering people.

I wonder how my husband would take care of me.

  3. I hate having to see the doctor. Since I'm a nurse, I guess I have to be good.

    Have a great Friday.

  5. Yea on being cancer free!!!

I've only been sick twice in the last 25 or so years. I take care of myself when I am sick.

  6. Yay for being cancer-free! I don't like asking for things, either - so on the one hand, I'm a great patient because I don't ask for anything, but on the other hand, a bad patient...because I don't ask for anything! :)

  7. So glad the surgery went well, and you are now cancer free. Yippee!!

I try to be a good patient, when hubby had to take care of me, for supper each night I would tell him to make me scrambled eggs, green beans, and applesauce. He could handle that. Otherwise, I try not to ask for too much of anything else. Some of my friends made soup for us, and all he had to do was nuke it and carry it to me. He was a good caregiver. I think I will keep him.

  8. Congrats on being cancer free! I hope your recovery goes well.

I'm awful patient because I get depressed if I'm under the weather and have emotional breakdowns.

  11. WOO HOO! CANCER FREE! TIME TO PARTY! CONGRATS MY FRIEND! Let's pop the Champagne. Little pat on the back to hubby too for taking good care of you! All hubbys should be devoted to their wives as he is. Am I a good or bad patient? I dunno I had back surgery in 06' & I'm still having problems, but I like to do things for myself, so I don't really have down time. I did when I had surgery, but as I say I'd rather do it myself. When I really can't do it I'll ask him, and again and again until I finally do it myself anyway! lol Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend.

  12. I'm glad everything went well.

I'm a very bad patient and hate it when I feel like I can't do things on my own.

    Good luck with your recovery.

  13. I think I'm a good patient since I never ask for anything. I usually just get it myself if I can. Speedy recovery!
